VetWeld Tissue Adhesive
DANGER: Cyanoacrylate. Bonds skin and eyes in seconds.

PRECAUTIONS
In Case of Eye Contact: If eyelids are bonded DO NOT FORCE EYE OPEN. Immediately flush with large amounts of water for at least 10 minutes. Seek immediate medical attention.
In Case of Skin Contact: Carefully remove contaminated clothing (contact through clothing can lead to an exothermic reaction, generating heat which may cause burns). Soak skin in warm soapy water to remove cured product. DO NOT FORCE THE SKIN APART. Seek medical attention.
In Case of Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If symptoms develop, seek medical attention.
In Case of Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical attention.
VetWeld Tissue Adhesive is an n-butyl cyanoacrylate used to bond tissue in veterinary procedures (cat declaws, lacerations, abrasions, oral surgeries). It can also be used as a topical sealant over traditional wound closure methods (staples, sutures). The adhesive sloughs off as healing occurs. It can be reapplied if necessary.
STORAGE:
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
It can also be refrigerated or frozen. Allow product to reach room temperature before use, but do not heat.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
Do not use internally, or on infected and/or deep puncture wounds or below the epidermal layer.
Do not use in the presence of soaps or cotton products (gauze, swabs, etc.) or with polyurethane foam.
Do not use if product is past expiration date.
- Avoid contact with gloves and surgical instruments. Adhesive can be removed from steel instruments by soaking in acetone. Acetone may not be suitable for some plastics.
- Hold bottle upright and remove cap. Place flexible applicator tip over the bottle nozzle (engage firmly).
- When finished, dispose of the extender tip. Wipe excess material from bottle nozzle with paper towel (ensure fingers do not contact the glue to prevent accidental bonding). Reapply the over cap.
Wound/Surgical Application:
- Clip hair from site and was area with antibacterial soap. Rinse well and allow to dry.
- Apply preoperative prep. Allow the prep solution to dry completely prior to surgery.
- After the surgical procedure is complete, approximate the edges of the surgical incision.
- Application site should be free of excess fluids.
- Apply VetWeld Tissue Adhesive sparingly to the surface of the skin to form a thin layer.
- Avoid touching moist surfaces with the applicator tip.
Declaw Application:
- Prepare surgical site and amputate claws using routine surgical procedures.
- Blot the wounds to remove as much blood as possible.
- Approximate the wound edges and topically apply VetWeld sparingly over the wound. One drop of glue per digit should be sufficient. DO NOT let glue enter the wound cavity. DO NOT bond hair over the wound.
- Hold skin edges together for 10 seconds.
- After completion of the procedure, check for bleeding and reapply adhesive if necessary. Bleeding should stop within 5-10 minutes. Sutures or dressings are normally not required, but a pressure bandage may be applied.
